Common Issues While Logging In

While TRACES is user-friendly, taxpayers may occasionally face login issues. Understanding the common problems can help resolve them quickly:

  • Invalid Details Error – This occurs when the User ID, PAN, or Date of Birth/Date of Incorporation is entered incorrectly. Always ensure that these details match the official records to avoid errors.
  • Account Locked – If a user enters incorrect login credentials 5 consecutive times within 24 hours, TRACES temporarily locks the account for security purposes. The account can be accessed again after one hour.
  • Disabled Account – Accounts that remain inactive for two consecutive financial quarters may be automatically disabled by TRACES. In this case, taxpayers should contact their administrator or follow the portal instructions to reactivate the account.
