Why a Sub-User May Not Be Able to Log in to TRACES

A sub-user might face login issues on their TRACES (TDS) account due to the following reasons:

  1. Account Disabled or Deleted – If you haven’t logged in for two consecutive quarters in a financial year, TRACES may automatically disable or delete your account. In such cases, contact your admin user to recreate the account.

Account Locked – Entering the wrong login details 5 times in a row within 24 hours will lock your account for one hour. You can try logging in again after this period.

How to Reset a Forgotten TRACES Login Password

To reset your TRACES password, follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the TRACES homepage and click Continue on the pop-up.
On the left-hand panel under Login, click Forgot Password and select Deductor.

Step 2: Enter all the required details as shown in the instructions (Steps 1 to 4) to proceed with password reset.

After entering the details in Steps 1 and 2, you can update the mobile number where the OTP will be sent. Enter the correct OTP in Step 4 to reset your password. You will also receive a confirmation email on your registered email ID once the password is changed.

Can You Reset Your User ID on TRACES?

If you’ve forgotten your User ID, follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the TRACES homepage and click Continue on the pop-up.
On the left-hand panel under Login, click Forgot User ID and select Deductor.

After entering the OTP, your existing User ID and registered email ID will appear. You can update these details or set a new password to continue.

Once submitted successfully, an activation link and codes will be sent to your registered email and mobile number.

After activation, you can log in to your TRACES account.
